American Idol Judge

The guy I am currently dating is in love with American Idol. In fact, at one point in time he was supposed to come over to my house after he got off work. He called me on his break that day and told me that American Idol was on and that since he got off at 8 and it started at 7 that we should go to his house instead because he has a dvr and was recording it. So alas we ended up going to his house that night. In fact, he was so invested in one of the contestants last year that when she was kicked off he got teary eyed--which cracks me up because he is not one to get teary eyed at all.

I've joined him in watching several of the episodes this year, although my loyalty to watching the show is much less than his. One night we were watching one of the performance nights and several times in a row he called exactly what the judges had said. He excitedly proclaimed that he could be a judge on American Idol. He called their pitchy-ness and if it was a great performance and so on.

Now you may not find this as amusing as I do but let me explain about his singing ability. He loves to sing. He sings frequently in the car, in the house and just randomly. However, he has a hard time staying on key. He misses notes frequently. He can tell when the song goes up and when the song goes down but that's about as good as it gets. I am a singer myself and am usually annoyed by the lack of people's ability to not sing well. However I am entirely amused with his lack of hitting notes. Very possibly cause I'm dating him. But nonetheless, his confidence and ability to tell that other people are off or pitchy when they are singing is amusing when his ability to carry a tune is more of an example of the contestants kicked off in the tryout range.

One day I'm hoping to get a recording of him singing. In which case maybe I will look at posting it.

That's soooo funny!! He and Brandon should sing a duet! THAT would HAVE to be taped!! Brandon actually can sing, if he stays in his octave, but for soooome reason, he loves to BELT it out in FALSETTO!
Love you!
